This a short and sweet update on Phase II of ShoutOut Photo Upgrade. As mentioned, this small phase is about how attractive or interesting your photos are. So we track ‘em. ShoutOut will automatically track 3 items.
- Number of views
- Number of Shouters who like the Photo
- Number of comments or conversation it generates
All these 3 stats will be combined and stirred to produce how attractive a photo is. The formula is yet to be figured out (any suggestions?). For now, Phase II is about tracking these numbers. And that is what you’ll be seeing when you view each individual picture.
So as you can see, this photo has been viewed 15 times and 2 people liked the photo.
What’s new for you?
With this Phase, you can now choose to like a photo. See the screenshots below. When you see a picture for the first time, you’ll see the first screenshot below. If you like the picture, you can do so by clicking on the ‘+ count me in’ link. What if you have already liked a picture and changed your mind? Just click on ‘- count me out’ and its done. Simple right?

views maybe like 1%, comments 4%, viewers' favourite 5% ?
total = 10%
so.. like for this photo...
viewed 45 times = 4.5pts,
10 comments = 4pts,
3 people liked this = 1.5pts.
Total~ 4.5 + 4 + 1.5 = 10pts
Then give a ranking system lo.
0-10pts = 1 star,
10-XXpts = 2 stars,
etc.
Make it 5-6 stars.
but after some calculation being made, i found this not very perfect, when the comments, views & favourites reach a very high number (will might not happen in SO yet), then all those pts will be higher, and more stars are needed.
